Vincent Van Duysen
ヴァンサン・ヴァン・デュイセンは1962年、ベルギーのロークセレに生まれました。ヘントのSint-Lucas School of Architectureで学位を取得し、その後ミラノでアルド・チッボと協働、さらにアントワープでジャン・デ・ムルダーとも仕事をしました。1989年には自身の事務所Vincent Van Duysen Architectsを設立しました。

作風
創業当初から、ヴァン・デュイセンは建築、インテリア、プロダクトデザインを一つの連続した領域として捉えてきました。それぞれの間にある繊細な移行を、プロジェクトの形を決める要素として生かしています。彼の仕事は、本質を絶えず追求することに貫かれています。純粋で手触りのよい素材、文脈や伝統への深い敬意、そして移ろいやすい流行よりも、感覚的な体験、機能性、耐久性、快適さを重視した、clean で時代を超えた空間です。彼は「保護」を、私たち誰もが必要とするものだと語り、それを自らの建築とデザインに映し出したいと考えています。
主な作品
2016年以来、Molteni&Cのクリエイティブ・ディレクターを務めており、同社のために、Paul、Augusto、Julian、Cleo、Octaveといったソファ、Walter、Elain、Paulaといったアームチェア、MateoとAriaのテーブル、HectorとLogosのリビングシステム、そしてVVDキッチンをはじめとする、張地家具、テーブル、収納、キッチン、アクセサリーの幅広いカタログをデザインしています。
受賞歴と評価
彼の受賞歴には、Flemish Culture Prize for Design、Belgian Designer of the Year、Henry van de Velde Lifetime Achievement Award、そしてEDIDA for Best Interior Designer of the Yearがあります。また、Architectural DigestのAD100やElle DecorのA-Listにも、これまで何度も選出されています。
