Collection Story
Origin
Neri & Hu created Ren, a range of complementary furniture, for Poltrona Frau. It began with the architects' studies of the home entryway, the place where guests are welcomed and the first glimpses of a personal style of living appear. The name is the Chinese ideogram "ren", which means "person, human being", and the collection is a symbolic reference to the centrality of human beings in interior design.
Design Language
Each side of the accessories copies the shape of the ideogram: the longer stroke sticks out slightly and is supported by the shorter one, and that sign becomes the design element that characterises the profile of every object. Hybrid in function and in materials, and refined in manufacture and shape, the objects are all made of wood, brass and saddle leather.
