Mogensen 22 Collection

Origin

Fredericia calls the Mogensen 22 Collection Børge Mogensen's "classic and timeless series of fully upholstered sofas and lounge chairs", defined by sharp outer contours and soft cushions on the inside, and says it is committed to keeping the legacy of the design alive at its workshop. The collection page lists eight products by Børge Mogensen: the Coupé Sofa 2292, the Ottoman 2202, the sofas 2213, 2209, 2212 and 2208, the Club Chair 2207 and the Wing Chair 2204. The sheets give 1962 for the 2212 and 2213, 1963 for the 2202, 2204, 2207, 2208 and 2209, and 1971 for the Coupé.

Design Language

The 2212, 2213 and Coupé list separate seat, back and arm cushions; the 2208, 2209 and the 2207 club chair list seat and back cushions; the 2204 wing chair lists a separate seat cushion only. The 2212 and 2213 pages each print a description of their own: the first sofa of that number was designed by Mogensen for his own home in 1962.
