Collection Story
Origin
Kashima is a settee collection by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset, a 1970s icon built entirely of foam. Ducaroy is also the designer of Togo. The seat takes its inspiration from Chesterfield settees, and Antoine Roset describes Kashima as a modern adaptation of the English Chesterfield sofa with its square pocket pattern.
Design Language
The collection has a nest shape, with ample armrests and a backrest. A fully quilted cover forms pinched seams, reinforced by interior laces, and gives the settee a couture touch.
Key Pieces
The collection includes medium and large settees, medium and large 1-armed settees, an armchair and two footstools. The large settee measures 2,350 x 1,000 x 750 mm (W x D x H), the armchair 1,030 x 1,000 x 750 mm (W x D x H) and the small footstool 800 x 600 mm (W x D).
