Collection Story
Origin
Kartell says the Componibili first appeared in 1967. According to the Kartell Museo timeline, the square Componibili pieces, the first modular furniture pieces, were shortly followed in 1969 by the round version designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, answering the demand for lightweight and informal furniture for the young people of the 1960s. They remain among Kartell's bestsellers.
Design Language
The system rests on a simple idea: individual pieces are overlapped vertically and interlocked to build practical storage units. The elements come in round and square versions and are made of ABS, batch-dyed or painted, in glossy colours and a matte silver.
