Description

Overview

Componibili Smile is Fabio Novembre's tribute to the Componibili created by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, made by Kartell. The classic round hole becomes a smiling face, and the model shown is the red unit, item 0492410 (code 4924).

Construction

The unit is a cylinder of 32 cm in diameter with a fixed structure of two levels. Its modules are not separable, and the base is meant for direct contact with the floor. Batch-dyed ABS in glossy red forms the body.

Story

A face in place of the round hole

Fabio Novembre re-interprets the round hole of the Componibili as a winking eye, which Kartell describes as a nod to today's emojis. The result is a playful variation that Kartell says fits children's spaces.

2017 tribute

Novembre made the Smile personalization in 2017 as a tribute to Anna Castelli Ferrieri, who created the original Componibili. The red two-level unit measures 32 x 32 x 40 cm and weighs 2.1 kg.
