Description
Overview
Wedge is a table designed by Arik Levy in 2009. It makes for a strong but not intrusive presence and, with its linearity and simplicity, offers a set of sculptural symmetries inspired by the lightness of origami.
Construction
The indoor version is a rectangular wooden table with a 40 mm honeycomb top in balanced fir wood, reinforced with 25x15 mm steel tubes. The top is veneered, with slabs and top edging in 4 mm solid wood, in Natural Chestnut, Charcoal-dyed Chestnut or Stone Oak® with a water-based acrylic finish, or in Striped Grey multilayer wood veneer with acrylic painting. The legs are birch plywood, screwed to the top using steel plates with a polyurethane paint finish.

Linear, symmetric and light
Arik Levy designed Wedge in 2009 as a table with a strong but not intrusive presence. Its linearity and simplicity produce a set of sculptural symmetries, inspired by the lightness of origami.
A honeycomb top on plywood legs
In the indoor version the top is a 40 mm honeycomb of balanced fir wood reinforced with steel tubes, veneered in chestnut, Stone Oak® or Striped Grey. Birch plywood legs are screwed to it with steel plates.
