Description
Overview
Honey is a bed by Arik Levy, dated 2009 on Molteni&C's datasheet. The sheet describes a simple but elegant bed characterised by its upholstery in fabric or leather, its materials and its tailoring, typical of the most refined "couturiers". It is a fabric bed with a modern line and a limited size, designed to fit into various sleeping environments, and the page adds that it was designed with compact urban living in mind.

Construction
A veneer structure forms the headboard, padded with foam rubber of varying density and covered in velour. In the fixed version the surround combines a metal frame, foam rubber and a velour cover; the container version swaps the foam rubber for polyurethane foam, adds a bonded velveteen lining and has chipboard border panels. Lacquered steel feet with non-slip felt grips carry the fixed version, and chrome steel feet with the same grips carry the container version.

Story
Tailoring for a bed
The datasheet ties the bed's upholstery, materials and tailoring to those of the most refined "couturiers", and the page says the tailored contours evoke the precision of the finest couturiers. It describes a bed that is fully upholstered in plush fabric or supple leather, with clean lines that highlight a contemporary character.
A container that swings open
The sheet explains that the container below the mattress opens with a swing mechanism developed to ease access to the compartment, and that the front opens to give access to a horizontal lift for comfortable bed making. The page presents these features as the innovative touch of the bed.
