Description
Overview
Storage Locker is a locker system designed by Arik Levy in 2010. Vitra presents it for non-territorial workflows in which employees collect work materials on arrival, place personal belongings in a locker and secure the compartment with an individual PIN code.
Relationship to Storage
The locker is the secure-compartment member of Vitra's wider Storage family, which also includes cabinets and sideboards. Its repeated doors organise personal spaces within one tall case, while the family is intended to coordinate with Vitra office systems.
Specifications
The official drawing shows the illustrated eight-compartment unit at 1000 × 440 × 1920 mm.
Story
Storage for unassigned desks
Vitra links Storage Locker directly to a workflow rather than a fixed personal workstation. Materials are removed from the locker at the beginning of a visit, belongings are secured during the day, and the process is reversed before departure so desks can be left clear.
Individually secured compartments
Dated 2010 and credited to Arik Levy, the system gives each user a compartment secured with an individual PIN code. Vitra identifies it as the complementary locker system in the Storage range.
