Superblocks

Overview

Superblocks is a sideboard by Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27, conceived like a piece of architecture. The storage element sits on polished Brandy metal blades. The model measured here has four small drawers and a marble element.

Construction

The support structure is boxed MDF laminated with aluminium, with additional structural tubular metal inside. The cabinet element is boxed MDF assembled at 45 degrees, 23 mm thick, in veneer or glossy lacquer. Drawers glide on full-extension runners with Blumotion soft-close.

• Living sideboard mod. D: 240 x 55 x H47 cm
• Marble element: 120 x 55 cm, 13 cm high, with a 5 mm tempered glass bottom cover
• Support: two metal blades, 15 mm thick, with adjustable ABS feet

Rationalism in lines and materials

Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27 drew on the rationalism of lines, shapes, proportions and materials typical of the Brazilian studio's work. Superblocks is a true piece of architecture, with its storage element in wood or glossy lacquer resting on polished Brandy metal blades.

Configurations and accessories

It is a furnishing piece that is functional as well as decorative, able to blend into different environments through configurations and accessories for specific functions. In the living and dining versions a brushed marble element is available for storing objects, the dining versions carry a black saddle-hide cutlery tray, and the night configuration has a jewellery drawer with a screened glass top.
