Description

Overview

The Trio armchair by Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27, in Minotti's 2024 Collection, combines leather, fabric and wood for the seat, backrest and frame. Minotti describes a slender, light yet solid piece with a padded seat and backrest, polished armrests and a multi-sectional wooden frame.

Construction

  • Structure: solid wood in Canaletto walnut (Dark Brown or Light Brown) or ash (Licorice), with a metal frame in Chestnut, Forest Green or Black Coffee
  • Shell: metal on the armchair, coated in fire-resistant polyurethane foam on rubber-rich elastic webbing
  • Covers: fabric or leather, completely removable once the frame is taken off

Specifications

  • Armchair: 80 cm wide, with unlabelled 90 and 75 cm figures on the drawing

Story

Three materials, one name

Minotti names the armchair after the three materials it combines, leather, fabric and wood, which it assigns to the seat, the backrest and the frame. The rationalist design of Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27 is joined, in Minotti's words, with its own manufacturing know-how.

Brazilian cabinet-making

The page links the multi-sectional woodwork of the frame to the typical refinement of Brazilian cabinet-making, and describes the polished armrests as giving a tactile sensation that the Trio Outdoor version echoes.
