Description
Overview
Striad Sofas translate lounge-chair comfort into low- and high-back workplace seating. The low-back version can be specified as two- or three-seat units and extended with inside curves or corners; the high-back version is a two-seat sofa.
Construction
Deep-set dual-density foam cushions provide support within the layered Striad construction. High backs create greater enclosure, while low backs keep adjacent seating visually connected.
Specifications
- High-back two-seat: W 78 × D 36 × H 46 in
- Seat height: 17 in
- Low-back and sectional units also available
Story
Striad family
Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub developed the Striad family around seating and tables with related bases and a focus on comfort. The sofa extends that system into high-back, low-back, curved, corner, two-seat, and three-seat configurations.
Different degrees of enclosure
Herman Miller describes the high back as a way to define space and provide privacy, while the low-back and sectional forms support collaboration.
