Story

A lounge for the Knoll tradition

Knoll's Director of Design Benjamin Pardo went to Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub in 2007, when a new lounge collection was planned, thinking they were the right designers to further the legacy of Knoll lounge seating.

The quilt

The designers made little models in fabric with sewing lines; when Pardo saw them he said they looked like a quilt. Knoll's page quotes the designers on keeping the idea of the quilt: a chair that is stable at the base and stays very soft at the top.
