Striad Lounge Chair and Ottoman

Overview

The Striad Lounge Chair and Ottoman uses a rigid outer shell, a flexible inner shell, and separately upholstered dual-density cushions. Low-, mid-, and high-back chairs are available as distinct choices.

Construction

The inner shell is a natural-fibre composite and the outer shell supplies stability. Base choices are a four-star auto-return base or a fixed four-leg wire base.

Layered like performance footwear

Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub drew on the layered construction of high-performance ski boots. Herman Miller describes a progression from the rigid exterior through a flexible inner shell to the upholstered cushioning.

A separate Striad member

The chair and ottoman belong to the named Striad family, alongside sofas and tables. Their construction is product-specific; the wider family story remains with the sofa until a collection row is available.
