Construction

A Kinematic Spine made from two types of polypropylene, an Intercept suspension or suspended upholstery, and a single height adjustment.

Specifications

Setu Chair with arms: height up to 38.6 in, width 25.1 in, depth 24 in, seat depth 15 in; maximum user weight 300 lb.

Story

Shaped by the world around it

Herman Miller's design story says the Berlin-based Studio 7.5 let the changing world shape Setu instead of starting from an idea and fitting it to the world. The designers estimate they built upwards of 35 fully functional prototypes in-house before sharing the concept with Herman Miller.

Revisited with colour

With experience from Cosm and Zeph, Studio 7.5 revisited Setu and applied Cosm's dipped-in-color idea, and the warmer tones of Zeph's palette led to Cocoa on Setu's newer suspension.
