Description
Overview
The Sesann armchair is part of the Sesann collection of sofas, ottomans and armchairs designed by Gianfranco Frattini. It is an icon of 1970s Italian design, offered as the Sesann and the Gran Sesann armchair. Important volumes and an elaborate design make it a protagonist in the space, and a visible tubular metal structure surrounds and contains the padding.
Construction
Under the upholstery sits a wooden frame with two kinds of polyurethane foam padding, one-component and multi-density. The outer structure is steel, colour-coated or polished, on feet of stained solid ash. The cover is fabric or leather.
Specifications
- Width and height: 110 x 67 cm (W x H)
- Structure finishes: five
- Feet finishes: two
Story
A reissued design
Sesann is a reissue of a historic design by Gianfranco Frattini. The armchair sits within a new vision of contemporary living, where ergonomics adapts to social change and to a more relaxed way of sitting.
Structure as architecture
The armchair keeps the characteristic visible tubular metal structure which, like an architecture, surrounds, contains and enhances the padding. The armchair is a protagonist in the space for its important volumes and elaborate design, and a representation of softness that invites one to give in to authentic comfort.
