Story
A castor base borrowed from the KEVI chair
Fritz Hansen writes that the 3117's five-legged base with aluminium-capped castors was originally designed by Jørgen Rasmussen in 1965 for the KEVI chair. Its twin-wheeled castors are credited with better manoeuvrability, and the wheel type is chosen to suit the floor.
Listed as an office chair
The page and product data name the 3117 the Series 7™ Office Chair. The sheet lists it as the chair with swivel base and castors among the Series 7™ models, with swivel and height adjustment as its features.
