Description

Overview

Pierre Guariche designed the Prefacto low table in 1952 as part of a modular furniture collection that also included a chair and a table in curved tube. This edition is paired with Guariche's G10 armchair of 1953.

Materials

A solid stained-beech top rests on a black-lacquered tubular steel base. Both the top and base use curves: the asymmetric wooden surface softens its perimeter, while the tube bends continuously beneath it.

Dimensions

The low table measures 680 x 510 x 420 mm (W x D x H) and weighs 8 kg. The stated size, price and images all refer to the current Ligne Roset Prefacto low table.

Story

A 1952 modular design

Prefacto began within Guariche's collection of modular pieces. The low table is one member of that group, and its compact curved outline was designed a year before the G10 armchair that Ligne Roset pairs with it today.

Wood over bent tube

The solid beech top and tubular steel support separate warm wood from the black base. Three loops of curved tubing form the stance under the irregularly rounded top.
