Description
Overview
Polar Armchair by PearsonLloyd draws on the irregular forms of Arctic landscapes. The wider Polar system combines solid volumes and oblique cuts; this armchair concentrates those ideas in a wide, comfortable upholstered seat.
Construction
Inside, a wooden frame supports one-component polyurethane foam. The final cover is offered in fabric or leather.
Specifications
Armchair model 0PLRPL107 measures 107 x 81.5 x 69 cm (W x D x H). The upholstery offering comprises 23 fabric ranges and four leather ranges.
Story
Landscapes translated into volume
PearsonLloyd looked to irregular blocks of ice and natural Arctic landscapes when developing Polar. Rather than illustrating those references literally, the armchair uses dense curved masses and a slanted incision to create its identity. It belongs to a broader seating system based on solid forms and oblique cuts, while this standalone chair concentrates the idea into a single embracing seat.
