Overview
Piero Lissoni's 2022 Pochette takes its name from a small, refined bag held close to the body. The chair pairs a visible tubular structure with a broad upholstered seat and two loose back cushions.
Construction
The frame is painted tubular steel wrapped in leather. Polyester fibre fills the back cushions; the seat combines flexible cold-shaped polyurethane foam, shaped polyurethane and polyester fibre.
Dimensions
The representative PE100P chair measures 1000 × 830 × 780 mm. Its drawing separately labels a 600 mm arm height and 400 mm seat height.
Story
Tailoring a tubular frame
B&B Italia compares Pochette with a graceful bag and describes a leather technique inspired by luxury-car steering wheels. The covering conceals seams while creating piping that becomes a decorative line around the structure.
Cushions without a fixed position
Two back cushions can be rearranged for different postures. The manufacturer likens their studied informality to a handkerchief placed in a jacket pocket, allowing the chair's composition to change without altering its exposed supporting frame.
