Description

Overview

Passarella is a family of storage units by Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27, conceived as a kind of domestic micro-architecture in which material and structure come together in a single architectural gesture. The horizontal sideboards, in living and dining versions, are 52 cm deep.

Construction

Carcases are 20 mm MDF with 45° assembly, veneered or lacquered, and are strengthened by a metal support frame varnished matt black; the living low sideboards rest instead on MDF crosspieces varnished matt black. All stand on adjustable black rubber feet. The large drawer fronts and drop-front doors are 20 mm thick with a metal frame in Chrome or antique Bronze, and each large drawer is opened from a groove in its upper part, clad in the same metal. Vertical side pieces are 20 mm thick and spacers 6 mm, in the same finish as the structure.

  • Structure: 20 mm MDF, 45° assembly, veneer or lacquer
  • Drawer fronts and drop-front doors: 20 mm, metal frame in Chrome or antique Bronze

Story

Domestic micro-architecture

Passarella is conceived as a kind of domestic micro-architecture, where material and structure come together in a single, unified architectural gesture. The design is credited to Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27, and the horizontal sideboards are made in a living and a dining version.

Living and dining sideboards

The living version has elongated proportions and a low profile, with large drawers that emphasise the linearity of the front, and frames and grooves in patinated bronze or polished chrome. The dining version combines large drawers with a flap door that has an integrated top groove. In the dining sideboards a smaller drawer holds a cutlery tray in Black saddle leather.
