Oolong Armchair

Overview

Oolong is a wing chair designed by Piero Lissoni in 2022 for Living Divani. It has a timeless look and a measuredly organic structure, an intimate and sophisticated refuge where the tactile and material feeling is central.

Construction

The swivel armchair is built on a steel frame set in cold-expanded polyurethane foam, with a differentiated-density polyurethane foam insert. Two layers cover the padding: 100% polyether lining on thermofixed polyamide velveteen, and a polyester fibre layer, needle-treated and coated in resin, on polyamide velveteen. The base is 20 mm thick sheet steel, CNC machined, with a Ø50 mm drawn tube that holds the swivel return mechanism. Epoxy polyester powder coating gives the base its burnished or Gunmetal grey colour. The chair stands on plastic supports whose interchangeable tips, black plastic or felt, are chosen to suit the floor. Leather or fabric upholstery is always non-removable.

Swivel base

The armchair turns on a base of CNC-machined sheet steel and a drawn steel tube with a swivel return mechanism inside. Two powder-coated base colours are offered, burnished and Gunmetal grey.
