Overview
Lialta is Roberto Barbieri's 2006 chair for Zanotta, model 2082. The high back narrows above a trapezoidal seat, a proportion the manufacturer describes as preserving visual lightness.
Construction
An aluminium-alloy structure carries polyurethane at both upholstered sections. Fitted fabric and leather upholstery detaches; cowhide does not. Zanotta also offers an unattached white-cotton slipcover in short and long versions.
Specifications
The sheet's diagram carries three main figures: 42, 57 and 106 cm. None is assigned an axis, and a separate vertical guide gives 45.5 cm.
Story
A tapered seat
Zanotta singles out the trapezoidal plan of Lialta's seat. Its reduced width towards the back supports the chair's slender outline while the back rises to a pronounced high point.
Optional outer layer
In addition to the fitted upholstery, a loose cotton cover can be placed over the chair without fastening. The short form covers the seat and back; the long form extends over the legs.
