Overview
Roberto Barbieri designed the Lio and Leo stools for Zanotta in 2005. The two models share a die-cast aluminium side profile but differ in treatment: Lio exposes its frame, while Leo is completely covered.
Construction
The seat and back are polyurethane-padded. Lio model 2291 has polished or painted aluminium alloy; Leo model 2292 uses an aluminium-alloy frame under its cover. Fabric or leather upholstery can be taken off, whereas cowhide cannot; the footrest is satin-finished stainless steel.
Specifications
Both models come in two heights. The taller drawing gives 44 x 48 cm and a largest vertical value of 105 cm; its stated seat height is 76 cm.
Story
From Lia and Lea to stools
Zanotta presents Lio and Leo as extensions of the Lia and Lea chairs, carrying forward their silhouette and single die-cast aluminium side element.
Two expressions, two heights
The exposed-frame Lio and fully covered Leo offer contrasting readings of the same structure. Two seat heights allow the pair to address different counter and bar conditions.
