Description

Overview

The Kobold soft Composition comes from Erwan Bouroullec and Ligne Roset in 9 compositions with a choice of 26 materials. Kobold's Soft version is described as very contemporary: relaxing is the invitation, through numerous feather cushions and a 36 cm seat.

Construction

Under the cushions, a frame of spruce plywood panels, skinned in ash veneered MDF, carries the seat. The armrests and back are ash veneered MDF carrying Bultex foam plus 110 g/m² polyester quilting. Stained ash makes the base; black lacquered beech appears only in concealed places. The seat cushion, Bultex foam with goose feathers, rests on pocket springs, and the backrests are goose-feather cushions with kidney wedges.

Specifications

Height: 710 mm, shared by all nine compositions.

Story

Soft version, modular layout

Kobold groups one-armed settees with daybeds. Described as very contemporary, its Soft version invites relaxing through numerous feather cushions and a 36 cm seat; in this model it is arranged as 9 compositions.

Fewer materials, separable parts

The model is conceived around better manufacturing: fewer materials, fewer resources, and strong rigour when the forms are put into practice. Foams and structures are separable, and sorting the materials once the sofa's life is over is meant to be easy.
