Description

Overview

The Kobold soft Chaise longue with armrest is a Kobold soft piece by Erwan Bouroullec for Ligne Roset. The Soft version is described as very contemporary and oriented to "Millennials", with a seat 36 cm high and numerous feather cushions.

Construction

Spruce plywood panels carry the seat, under an ash veneered MDF skin. Ash veneered MDF also forms the arms and the back, wrapped in Bultex foam, with quilted polyester of 110 g/m² over it. A stained ash base sits below, with black lacquered beech where it is hidden. Pocket springs and Bultex foam sit inside the seat, and goose-feather cushions and kidney wedges make up the backrests.

Specifications

Overall size: 2,070 x 970 x 710 mm (W x D x H). Seat height 360 mm.

Story

Soft version of Kobold

Kobold is a range of settees made of one-armed settees and daybeds. Its Soft version is described as very contemporary and invites relaxing, with a 36 cm seat and numerous feather cushions.

Fewer materials, separable parts

Its design idea is better making: less material, fewer resources and strict rigour in how the forms are carried out. Foams and structures can be separated, and the build is meant to make sorting the materials easy once the sofa reaches the end of its life.
