Description
Overview
The Kobold soft 1-armed settee left with armrest seats two, and Erwan Bouroullec is its designer at Ligne Roset. The Soft take on Kobold is very contemporary, with a seat height of 36 cm and numerous feather cushions.
Construction
A seat frame of spruce plywood panels is covered by an ash veneered MDF panel. Ash veneered MDF forms the armrests and the back, which are wrapped in 48 kg/m³ Bultex foam and polyester quilting of 110 g/m². Underneath is a stained ash base, with black lacquered beech out of view. Pocket springs and Bultex foam form the seat, topped by a goose-feather seat cushion.

Kobold groups one-armed settees with daybeds. In its Soft form the range is called very contemporary, and a 36 cm seat plus numerous feather cushions invite relaxing.
Better making
Less material and fewer resources went into this model, along with a strong rigour in the way its forms are put together. The foams and the structures are separable, so that sorting the materials at the end of the sofa's life is made easier by the construction.
