Hi Tech Armchair

Overview

Piero Lissoni designed Hi Tech for Living Divani in 2005. It is an armchair for indoor and outdoor use, an extreme item due to its paradoxical appearance: ultratechnological and atavic, non-conventional and hyper-formal.

Construction

Matte satin AISI 316 stainless steel forms the supporting frame, and the mesh is also AISI 316 stainless steel. The chair stands on pivoting plastic tips. For indoor use, the seat cushion padding is goose down, pre-washed and sterilized, held in separately stitched compartments, and the upholstery is fabric or leather. For outdoor use, the seat cushion padding is open cell structure polyurethane foam under a draining fabric cover, with outdoor fabrics. In both cases the cushion upholstery can be removed completely with zippers.

Steel frame and mesh

Frame and mesh are both AISI 316 stainless steel, and the frame has a matte satin finish; pivoting plastic tips meet the floor. The cushions are down-filled with fabric or leather indoors, and foam-filled with a draining fabric cover outdoors.
