Halfsquare

Overview

Halfsquare is a series of bedside tables and cabinets by Giacomo Moor, dated 2024. A square base creates a structure that intersperses solids and voids, and it ends in a shelf together with drawers that the outer surface disguises.

Construction

The bases, tops and open compartments are made of 3 mm steel sheet and steel profiles of 20 x 20 mm triangular section, with epoxy polyester powder coating. Drawers, single or double height, are MDF veneered in Canaletto walnut or Striped Grey, with side panels in a matt charcoal black finish, Blum® runners, and bottom and back in MDF lacquered matt black RAL 9017. The bases carry an MDF base panel lacquered in the same matt black. Bushes and screws fix the elements to each other, and adjustable black plastic feet carry the unit on the floor.

Drawers disguised by the outer surface

Beside the open compartments the series has intimate and discreet drawers, disguised by the outer surface. Single or double-height drawers in veneered MDF are fitted with Blum® runners, and the bedside tables and cabinets consist of bases, tops and open compartments made of steel.
