Description
Overview
Gunta is a sculptural screen by Studiopepe, an ethereal and floating object that creates light scenes and delicate atmospheres of light and transparency. It diffuses a warm and soft glow that divides space while also uniting it.
Construction
The body is made from cocoon resin fibre, manually sprayed on a metal structure, and the structure is tinted white metal. The base is natural stained ash wood. Light comes from a dimmable LED strip, 2700 K, on a 24 V transformer, with a two-pin plug.
Specifications
Production is artisanal, so uniformity between different pieces cannot be guaranteed.
Story
A screen reinterpreted through material
Studiopepe transforms material into a design tool with Gunta, an elegant and refined sculptural screen. The idea of a screen is reinterpreted in a profoundly material way, producing a floating, ethereal presence in the room.
Cocoon resin fibre
Cocoon resin fibre is a plastic material that can form soft, enveloping shapes, almost like clouds, ephemeral yet extremely solid. On Gunta it is sprayed by hand onto a metal structure.
