Solstice

Overview

Solstice is an applique designed by Studiopepe for Tacchini in 2023. It emits a dense, almost mysterious glow, filtered through soft, enveloping materials that create repetitions of light and shadow, fullness and emptiness.

Construction

The finish is tinted fiberglass. Light comes from a dimmable LED strip rated 140 LED/m, 2700 K and 8 W. The fibreglass diffuses that light. Each piece is made artisanally, so identical results across pieces are not assured. 3 colours are offered.

Specifications

Code 0SLS01 measures 40 x 15 x 60 cm (W x D x H).

Object Art as inspiration

Solstice is a novel applique by Studiopepe, inspired by Object Art, in particular the works of Enrico Castellani. The fibreglass gives the light a quality that appears almost mysterious.

Light and shadow in balance

Light and shadow seem to float in a refined balance between presence and absence. The project is part of Tacchini and Studiopepe's continuous exploration of material potential, which enhances forms and turns light into a visual and sensory experience.
