Description

Overview

The Gentry pouf is credited to Patricia Urquiola, 2011, and is listed under Ottomans in the Moroso range. The pouf is perhaps the most relaxed interpreter of the Gentry language of measured elegance and gentle irony, the piece that breaks the formality of the living room.

Construction

Slender steel tube legs, chromed or powder coated, support a soft, generous seat. The upholstery is fully removable: Big Pois has a raised pattern and was designed specifically for poufs and backrests, Big Braid is a braided knit, and bouclés and soft leathers complete the choice.

Story

A relaxed member of Gentry

Moroso links the name Gentry to the English country gentry: welcoming drawing rooms, unhurried conversation and good manners worn with ease. Urquiola drew from that world a language of measured elegance and gentle irony, and the pouf is described as its most relaxed interpreter.

Surfaces and textures

Slender steel tube legs hold a soft, generous seat. The pouf, like every Gentry, loves a change of attire, in Moroso's phrase: the fully removable upholstery becomes a play of surfaces and textures, from the raised pattern of Big Pois through the braided knit of Big Braid to bouclés and soft leathers.
