Overview
Family Lounge dates from 2005 and carries the signature of Piero Lissoni. Its page says that, with the new proportions, the sofa becomes an oasis of space for cultivating thought, reading and conversation.
Construction
The sofa is fixed or modular. Its shell is a single piece of poplar and fir honeycomb panel sitting on a steel frame, with coated rubber straps woven across it for suspension. Shell padding is differentiated-density polyurethane foam. Backrest and armrest cushions are polyurethane foam wrapped in acrylic fibre layers or, on request, filled with goose down in separate compartments around a preformed foam insert. The black anodized aluminium feet adjust on three levels from 7 to 10 cm.
Specifications
The technical drawing of the 200 cm sofa gives 200, 112 and 67 cm (axes not labelled on the drawing), alongside 58, 63 and 35 cm. The listed seat depth is 83 to 118 cm.
Story
Elements and compositions
The technical sheet draws the sofa at 200, 225 and 250 cm, together with terminal, central and corner elements, a 160 cm long seat, a pouf at 112 x 100 cm and loose cushions of 50 and 60 cm. Modular elements are joined with hooks supplied for assembly, and the sheet asks for a general sketch when a composition mixes different elements.
Upholstery rules
Fabric or leather can cover the sofa. Zippers and Velcro fastenings release the fabric version completely; the leather version is always non-removable. Four example compositions close the sheet, marked 300, 313, 312 and 325 cm.
