Overview
Ethan is a side table designed by Giampiero Tagliaferri for Minotti. An irregular hexagonal top rests on a base formed by two opposing squared "Cs" that join into a central stem. Minotti describes the two cores of the base, one in wood and one in metal, as making Ethan a small jewel-sculpture.

Construction
In the ash/chrome version the top is marble, 20 mm thick, bevelled, offered in five marbles. The base is bent aluminium sheet, 8 mm thick, veneered in ash, finished in open-pore moka lacquer, and laminated to a chrome-finished metal sheet. The fasteners joining the two sheets are satin-finish aluminium, and the feet carry protective felt glides. The palisander version has a contoured MDF top, 20 mm thick, veneered in reconstituted Palisander.
Specifications
The technical sheet draws five sizes. The 50 x 40 cm model is 50 cm wide, 40 cm deep and 46 cm high; the same footprint is also drawn at 50 cm high.
Story
Two Cs and a central stem
Minotti's text sets the Ethan side table in contemporary living scenarios, where it adds a touch of light. What distinguishes it is the base: two opposing squared "Cs" meet to make a single central stem, and the page says the base is distinguished by four metal details.

Wood and metal cores
The two cores of the base are one in wood and one in metal, which the page credits with turning the table into a small jewel-sculpture. The wood is ash or reconstituted Palisander, depending on the version, and the metal side is chrome-finished. The page lists Ethan among the 2024 Collection pieces and flags its wood parts as FSC certified.
