Description
Overview
The Libra armchair by Giampiero Tagliaferri for Minotti is inspired by 1970s aesthetics. Soft overlapping volumes form the seat, the backrest and the headrest, upholstered in leather or fabric, with precise stitching at the centre of the cushions that gives a tailored, three-dimensional effect. The page names an armchair, a bergère, a footstool, a dining little armchair and an ottoman among the Libra pieces.

Story
A name that means scale
The page says that the name comes from the interplay of volumetric balances: Libra means scale in Latin. Seat, backrest and headrest are soft volumes laid one over another, and the perimeter of the padded volumes is curled and finished with a piping that shapes the soft folds of the upholstery.
A base of tubes and a plate
The metal base combines tubular legs with a curvilinear plate that supports the seat. Minotti calls it unique.
