Elas Cord Outdoor

Overview

The Elas "Cord" Outdoor bergère is a Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27 design for exterior use. It has a leaf-shaped headrest, a solid teak structure and a backrest and seat shaped by woven fibre with a wicker effect.

Construction

• Structure: solid teak (Tectona Grandis, First European Quality), kiln-dried, natural finish, worked on CNC machines and doweled together
• Seat shell: stainless steel with a glossy Bronze polyester powder-coat, including a rear plate built into the backrest, wrapped in 5 mm wicker-effect woven fibre
• Crosspieces: aluminium, front and rear, varnished in polished Bronze
• Armrest insert: a recessed titanium-colour Travertine inset in the right armrest, held by a magnet so it can be removed
• Cushion: a single seat-and-backrest cushion in high-resilience polyurethane foam and viscose fibre, with decorative stitching

Teak, steel and woven fibre

The bergère combines a teak structure with a steel seat shell that is covered in woven fibre in a wicker effect. The weaving is part of the architecture of the chair, shaping its rhythm and profile, and its dense pattern lightens the volume and filters the light.

A Travertine insert in the armrest

One wide armrest holds a recessed Travertine insert in a titanium colour, an addition that brings a mineral note into the contrast between teak and fibre. The cushion carries decorative stitching that makes the lumbar support more comfortable.
