Story
A chair named by its parts
The letters DAR describe the chair: dining height, armchair shell, rod base. Vitra's page puts the wire base at the centre of the design, calling it intricate and structurally strong.
Recycled shell, familiar shape
The armchair shell itself is now moulded in recycled polypropylene with a pigment-flecked surface. The shape of the chair and its wire base are unchanged in the drawings, and the page offers cushion and full-upholstery options for the same frame.
