Story
A base with a nickname
The DAR is the armchair shell on the base Vitra's page calls the Eiffel Tower. The page presents the wire structure as the notable part of the design: intricate and graceful, with elegant forms that still carry load.
Bare or with a cushion
Vitra offers the shell as it is, with its visible fibres and slight translucence in some colours, or with a foam cushion screwed on. The 2025 factbook gives the cover choices for the cushions, which differ from the colour of the shell.
