Description
Overview
Catifa 46 (article #0251) is the four-leg chair of Arper's Catifa 46 line, drawn by Lievore Altherr Molina in 2004. Arper presents it as a smaller sibling of Catifa 53 for contract use: the profile is related, the scale is a little more compact.
Construction
The shell is moulded in single-colour or bi-colour polypropylene and sits on a four-leg frame in chromed or powdercoated steel. On request, armrests are offered in the same finish as the base, with pads in polypropylene or in an upholstered version. Within the collection, the four-leg and sled bases are the stackable ones.
Specifications
- Measured version (with optional armrests): W 63.5 × D 53.5 × H 79.5 cm, seat height 45 cm, armrest height 68 cm
- Certified GS (Geprüfte Sicherheit) to EN 16139 level L2 (extreme use), like every Catifa 46 model
- GREENGUARD Gold certified; Environmental Product Declaration for article 0251
Story
A smaller format
Catifa started in 2001 with the 53 cm chair. In 2004 Lievore Altherr Molina reworked the curved, streamlined shell at a smaller size, giving Catifa 46, which Arper aims at contract interiors and rooms that call for a lighter scale.
Many bases, one shell
In 2016 Arper widened the colours, finishes and accessories offered with Catifa 46. The shell now combines with every base in the collection: four legs, sled, wooden legs, trestle and five-spoke on casters. The four-leg chair is the plainest of them.
