Description

Overview

Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27 designed the Boteco sideboards for Minotti. This Living/TV console table has a single open compartment under a very thick boxed top that holds a tray insert, and it stands on aluminium blade legs.

Construction

The top is miter-fold boxed MDF around a structural metal frame, with laminated aluminium side pieces that are veneered. The open compartment and the bottom of the tray insert are lined in 12 mm Sahara Noir marble. The legs are 15 mm aluminium blades with adjustable metal feet and ABS glides.

Specifications

  • Overall size: 240 x 50 x 55 cm
  • Structure finishes: Santos palisander veneer under matt lacquer, or oak veneer stained Tobacco
  • Legs: aluminium blades, Golden Brown

Story

Layering and removing volumes

The architectural language of Studio MK27 shows in Boteco, which plays with volumes by layering, removing and adding. Marcio Kogan treats the planning of architecture, interiors and design as part of a single process in which scale is the only difference.

Closed spaces and open compartments

The Boteco sideboards pair closed spaces with open compartments in a planned juxtaposition of materials and finishes. This version keeps one open compartment, lined in marble, below the thick veneered top.
