Bézier Cord Outdoor Chair

Overview

The Bézier "Cord" Outdoor armchair / paolina is an element of the outdoor system designed by Studio MK27 (Marcio Kogan). Its backrest is a tubular aluminium structure wrapped in a thick polypropylene cord weave, and the seat is a single piece.

Construction

• Seat structure: marine-grade plywood with many layers of variable-density, high-resilience polyurethane foam, encased in water-repellent polyester fibre quilting
• Backrest: tubular aluminium with a matt epoxy powder-coat, woven with 20 mm Taslan polypropylene cord; a flat, contoured aluminium bar runs along the vertical profile
• Attachment: the backrests are fastened to the padded base by quick set-and-release closures
• Cushions: a lumbar cushion and a backrest cushion, each under a water-repellent polyester slipcover
• Feet: tubular stainless steel in matt Dark Brown on SEBS glides

Cord-wrapped backrest on a one-piece seat

The backrest of this armchair / paolina is a tubular aluminium structure wrapped lengthwise in thick polypropylene cord, with an aluminium plate in a matching nuance closing each end. The seat is a single piece, built up from layers of high-density polyurethane foam in different thicknesses so that the comfort is even across the whole surface.

Stitching that follows the curves

Because the volumes are organic, the stitching is tailored closely to the curves of each element. Recessed stainless steel feet lift the seat from the floor.
