Description

Overview

Bézier Cord Outdoor is an outdoor seating system by Studio MK27 (Marcio Kogan) for Minotti, defined by enveloping volumes, irregular shapes and sinuous lines. Its elements can be combined in various ways or used on their own.

Construction

A painted tubular aluminium backrest structure is wrapped longitudinally in a thick polypropylene cord weave and finished at the ends with an aluminium plate matching the cord. The one-piece seat is layered high-density polyurethane foam over a marine-grade plywood structure, and the stainless steel feet are recessed. The upholstery is completely removable.

Specifications

  • Backrest and cord in three matching colours
  • Matt Dark Brown stainless steel feet on Dark Brown SEBS glides

Story

A curve as the starting point

Studio MK27 designed the system from the geometry of the parametric curve of the mathematician Bézier. The result is a compositional language of irregular volumes and sinuous lines that embrace the space, with elements that work together or on their own.

Enveloping volumes, cord backs

The backrest structure is wrapped in a thick polypropylene cord, and the exceptionally comfortable one-piece seat gets its softness from carefully layered polyurethane foams. Stitching follows the curves of every element, and the deep seat is raised on recessed stainless steel feet.
