Description

Overview

Baby Vanity is the small version of the Vanity Fair armchair, credited on its page to Renzo Frau. Poltrona Frau sizes it at two thirds of the full-size chair, to the exact fraction, with the same charm; the page adds that Vanity Fair is also a comfortable pouf.

Construction

  • Frame: poplar and birch plywood
  • Padding: moulded foam in arms and back, foam seat, goose-down seat cushion
  • Legs: beechwood stained dark walnut
  • Finish: a row of leather-covered nails on the back and sides

Specifications

  • Baby armchair 5163110: W 67 cm, D 63 cm, H 67 cm (the axes are not labelled on the drawing)

Story

The baby version

The sheet sets it out as its own section, Baby armchair, within the Vanity Fair sheet. The page for the original model explains the Vanity Fair history; this page describes only the small version.

What changes in the build

Where the sheet's full-size armchair has a solid beech frame with hand-tied steel springs, the baby armchair has a frame of poplar and birch plywood. The arms and back take moulded foam, the seat plain foam, and the cushion on it holds goose down.
