Overview
Archibald is an armchair by Jean-Marie Massaud for Poltrona Frau. Poltrona Frau describes it as a modern Italian armchair that comes in Pelle Frau® leather or removable fabric, with contrasting stitching on the leather version and tone-on-tone stitching on the fabric one.

Construction
The backrest and seat structure is steel, with elastic belts for suspension and moulded polyurethane foam padding, plus polyester wadding in the comfort zones. The base is a tubular steel frame with four cast aluminium legs; the sheet also offers solid wood legs.

Story
A leather that folds
The sheet explains the design through the leather: it forms a free play of folds across the inner back, which makes the surface pleasantly undulating, and contrasting stitching runs along the seams and external surfaces.
