Story
A collaboration for the 110th anniversary
According to the sheet, Poltrona Frau celebrated its 110th anniversary by partnering with a contemporary mark-making artist on an exclusive limited edition. The page describes the result as an unexpected blend of the brand's heritage and manual expertise with the optical and digital language of Felipe Pantone, who took inspiration from the ColorSphere palette and made a pattern that blurs the contours of the armchair.
Heat-map colours
In the page's words the artwork turns the upholstery into a palette of reds, oranges, yellows, whites and blues, recalling the warm and cold readings of a heat map. The sheet explains that the gradient is printed directly on the leather with a technique usually reserved for small luxury leather goods.
