Signed console
Agrilo model 7400 is a signed console designed by Alessandro Mendini in 1984. Zanotta specifies a lacquered wooden frame, a hand-decorated edge, silver-plated brass feet and a painted plate-glass top. The edge decoration uses the blue and green colours stated by the manufacturer, while the frame and top are specified in black.
Drawing values
The official product sheet prints 90, 40 and 80 cm beside the console views. The values are not labelled with axis names on the drawing.
Story
From Zabro to Zanotta Edizioni
Zanotta states that Agrilo first belonged to the Zabro Collection, an initiative created under Aurelio Zanotta to continue the Alchimia group's experimental research. Adriana and Alessandro Guerriero prepared its manifesto with support from Alessandro Mendini.
A console named for an insect
The manufacturer describes Agrilo as a small console whose name refers to an insect. Its signed status, hand-decorated border and mix of wood, plated brass and glass place the object within the craft-oriented Edizioni programme.
