Overview
The Aeron Stool extends Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick's performance seating system to counter and bar heights. It combines the Aeron suspension and support mechanisms with a foot platform designed for elevated sitting.
Support and movement
The 8Z Pellicle suspension distributes support through eight zones, while PostureFit SL supports the sacral and lumbar regions. Harmonic 2 Tilt coordinates recline and movement. The footrest moves with the seat and is three times wider than a typical footring.
Specifications
The official store's default counter-height configuration measures 27 inches wide, 17 inches deep, and 49.25 inches high, with a 29.25-inch seat height. A separate bar-height version reaches 54.5 inches.
Story
Aeron at greater heights
Herman Miller presents the stool as part of the Aeron lineup, adapted for elevated work surfaces rather than simply adding a conventional footring. The broad platform moves with seat-height adjustment, keeping foot support aligned as the user changes position.
Continuing development
Herman Miller introduced the Aeron Chair in 1994. The current stool carries forward 8Z Pellicle, PostureFit SL, and Harmonic 2 Tilt while offering counter- and bar-height configurations and updated material expressions.
