Overview
For electrostatic-discharge-sensitive work, Herman Miller gives an ESD configuration to the ergonomic office design jointly credited to Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick. It is offered in sizes B and C and meets multiple global ESD standards.
Performance
ESD-enhanced 8Z Pellicle divides support across eight tension zones. PostureFit SL addresses the base of the spine, and Harmonic 2 Tilt balances the chair through its reclining range.
Representative specifications
Size B, height-adjustable arms: maximum overall dimensions are 27.5 × 27.5 × 43.4 in.
Story
Aeron for controlled environments
Herman Miller created this ESD-compliant version because seating can be a source of electrostatic discharge in sensitive workplaces. The line has two chair sizes and a stool.
Current material development
Herman Miller reports that recycled content represents over half the product's material and that ocean-bound plastic is now incorporated, while the chair retains its suspension, back support, and tilt systems.
