Biography
Background
Saskia Huebner, who also writes her name Hübner, graduated in Interdisciplinary Design from the Münster School of Design (MSD) in Germany in 2016. She moved to Copenhagen, worked at Normann Copenhagen as Senior Designer for four years, and went on to run her own studio. In 2024 she relocated to Aarhus and founded Form22, a practice for climate communication design.
Signature Style
Her work starts from an interest in societal behavior and combines simple expression with functional storytelling. She designs minimalist objects whose aesthetics come from well thought-out, harmonious shapes, and she pays close attention to sustainable solutions. Recent work leans toward the stories objects carry, climate narratives and material responsibility.
Notable Works
The Puff rice paper lamp collection for Normann Copenhagen (2022), the Tivoli collection for Normann Copenhagen (Orient, Ticket, Path, Mirage and Balloon), the Bit stool and Hyg collection designed with Simon Legald, the Glypto table for the Glyptotek in Copenhagen, and the Bau 22 sofa that won the Mesterværk category of Danmarks næste Klassiker.
Legacy
In 2025 she joined the Danish television program Danmarks næste Klassiker as its first foreign designer to compete. Puff, her lighting collection for Normann Copenhagen, began with a trip to Japan and a search for the right balance between sculptural playfulness and functional minimalism.
