Biography
Artistic training
Mark Holmes is an artistically trained designer with a master's degree from London's Slade School of Art. Minimalux traces his transition from sculptural work to functional objects and notes the influence of minimalist artists Donald Judd and Carl Andre.
Furniture and lighting
After establishing his first studio in 1995, Holmes co-founded Established & Sons in 2004 and served as its Design Director. His own work from that period includes e15's award-winning SEAM light series, alongside installations conceived for the furniture brand in Milan and other locations.
Minimalux and later practice
Holmes co-founded Minimalux in 2009 and remains responsible for its creative direction. In 2020, Other Luxury Limited was formed to bring existing projects together with future art and design ventures, adding multidisciplinary creative-studio services in 2021.
